Die Idee des Festivals
Die Idee internationale Chöre nach Baden zu bringen wurde im Jahr
2003 geboren als der Männerchor des MGV 1863 Ötigheim sich auf
das bevorstehende 140. Jubiläum vorbereitete. Das Internationale
Chorfestival Baden war geboren. Das Chorfestival hat sich aufgrund der
Auswahl preisgekrönter Chöre sowie renommierter Konzertorte zu einer
einzigartigen Kulturveranstaltung in Baden-Württemberg entwickelt.
Es ist daher von überregionaler Bedeutung sowie eine Werbung für
hervorragenden Chorgesang in der Kulturregion Baden.
Das Internationale Chorfestival Baden soll die Begegnung und den
Austausch von international preisgekrönten Chören, sowie den Dialog
mit anderen Kulturen fördern und damit einen Beitrag zur Völkerverständigung
sein.
2016 erlebten rund 7000 Zuhörer die Veranstaltungen des Chorfestivals
an 10 Tagen- es umfasste 23 Veranstaltungen, darunter 16 Konzerte,
vier Messebegleitungen und drei Workshops.
Eine große Besonderheit des Internationalen Chorfestivals Baden ist,
dass die Teilnehmerchöre nur für den Transport nach Deutschland sorgen
müssen. Kost, Logis und Transporte während dem Festival werden
vom Veranstalter übernommen.
Dadurch ermöglicht der Veranstalter auch finanziell schwachen Chorvereinigungen
ihr Können zu zeigen. Erleben Sie die Faszination Chorgesang
aus aller Welt bei diesem einzigartigen Veranstaltungsereignis
im Südwesten Deutschlands.
Das 6. Internationale Chorfestival 2019
Das 6. Internationale Chorfestival Baden findet vom 23. Mai bis zum 27.
Mai 2019 statt. Traditionell findet das Eröffnungskonzert im Weinbrennersaal
des Kurhauses Baden-Baden statt. Die zentrale Veranstaltung des
Festivals ist das „Große Internationale Chorkonzert“ auf der größten
Freilichtbühne Deutschlands in Ötigheim. Wie bei den vorherigen Festivals
erwarten wir zu diesem Konzert bis zu 2.500 Besucher. Damit zählt
das Konzert zu einer der größten, regelmässig veranstalteten Vokalveranstaltungen Deutschlands. Musikalische Leitung des Festivals hat der musiakslische Leiter des MGV inne, Matthias Böhringer. Während den anderen Tagen des Festivals finden unterschiedliche
Konzerte in ganz Baden statt, an denen die Teilnehmerchöre
beteiligt sind.
Idea of the Festival
The idea of bringing award-winning choirs from all over the world to Baden
was born in 2003 when the German male choir MGV Ötigheim was
preparing the celebrations of its 140th anniversary. The Choir Festival
Baden was born. Meanwhile the Festival has developed into an inimitable
cultural event in Baden-Württemberg owing to both, the selection
of choirs with incredible vocal skills as well as famous concert venues
in Baden. Therefore it is of supra-regional importance and publicity for
excellent choral singing and the sights in Baden.
From the very first beginning singing together and the music itself had
priority, thus concerts had been held without competitional pressure. Alternatively
the festival should provide an exchange regarding the choral
literature of the individual countries, interpretation styles and inter-cultural
learning as well as contribution to the international understanding.
The International Choir Festival Baden is intended to support the meeting
and the exchange of the world’s best choirs as well as the dialogue
with other cultures.
At the last festival in 2016 around 7000 visitors were able to experience
the fascinating world of vocal music at 10 days and in 23 different
events – 16 concerts, four church services and three workshops.
Singing together and the music have priority in the concerts (no competition).
An important specificity of the Choir Festival Baden is the fact, that
board and lodge is paid by the organiser. This allows the participation
of choir without greater financiall background.
6th Choir Festival 2019
The 6th International Choir Festival Baden is taking place from May 23rd
to May 27th 2019. Traditionally, the opening concert will be on May
23rd in the amazing Weinbrenner Saal in the world famous casino of
Baden-Baden. The central event of the choir festival will be on May 25th,
the traditional highlight concert at Germanys biggest open air theatre
in Ötigheim. With over 2500 visitors in 2016 this concert is one of the
largest regularly appearing vocal events in southern Germany. Director
of the 6th International Choir Festival 2019 is Matthias Böhringer, the conductors of the MGV Ötigheim.
During the other days of the festival there will be concerts in different
places scattered throughout Baden.
